MacDonald Highlands is a 1,320-acre, guard-gated hillside community in Henderson, built around the private DragonRidge Country Club. Homes step down the foothills of Black Mountain, at the edge of the McCullough Range, so many have views of the Strip and the whole valley (MacDonald Highlands; Wikipedia). It's one of the few places in Henderson where you'll find townhomes, semi-custom homes and big custom estates all inside the same gates.

Where Is MacDonald Highlands, and How's the Commute?
The community's address is on South Stephanie Street, and its west entrance is at Horizon Ridge Parkway (Wikipedia). It borders Sun City MacDonald Ranch (Del Webb) and Green Valley Ranch, and it's next to Roma Hills and Ascaya. Stephanie Street gets you to the 215 Beltway in a few minutes.

What Are the Homes Like?
The community describes homes "cascading down hillsides or sprawled along DragonRidge Golf Course frontage," with glass walls, terraces and modern lines. In practice you'll see:
- Townhomes and lock-and-leave homes for buyers who want the gate and the views with less upkeep

- Custom estates on hillside and golf-course lots, plus homesites for building your own

What Are the HOA Fees in MacDonald Highlands?
On 27 of the 30 listings in the snapshot above, the listed association fee was $330 a month. The others showed $400 to $509, which can reflect a sub-association (for example, a townhome or village HOA) on top of the master fee. DragonRidge Country Club membership is separate from the HOA. Always read the resale package for the exact dues on your street.
